FAQ

Everything you ever needed to know, and more, about booking Leeds wedding photographer, Jamie Sia, AKA ‘the guy with the bow tie’ for your big day.

Whats the best way to book you?

Well, you have a few options. Email me, call me on 07950451423 or use the contact form. I’m looking forward to hearing from you!

How do I secure the date?

There is non-refundable deposit to secure your date. This will ensure that no else gets me for your date. The remainder can be paid off at any point up to one month prior to your wedding day.

Can we meet you before the wedding?

Yes, I recommend meeting up for a free consultation before their wedding to go through all the details of the day, usually arranged either before confirming the booking or a few months before the big day. It will give you a better idea of what you have planned ahead. If this is not possible due to distances then I will always be available by phone, e-mail, Skype, Facetime or carrier pigeon! I’m joking on the last one. My pigeon is currently out of action.

How long does it take to get the photos back after the wedding?

The average editing time is between two to four weeks but if it’s really busy then it might take a little bit longer. I’ll let you know if that is the case though.

How do we get the photographs?

There are a couple of options with this one – You can either get them on personalised disc or USB there will be both high resolution and low resolution pictures. There will also be a password protected on the website for you and your guests to view and order from. I always try and post a few preview shots up on my blog, website and Facebook page. And also some on the day, time dependant.

How many photographs will we get?

This depends on the package you choose but it will be anything from 150 – 500 edited photographs, but this all depends on length of coverage and which package is chosen.

What is the best way to describe your style of photography?

My style has been described as documentary, contemporary and natural. Although photography is very subjective most of my clients would agree with those three words. Something that I would add is that during the conversations I have with the bride and groom I will always take on board any ideas they have and try to incorporate this into my style of photography.

Do you require food during the day?

This all depends on the package you choose but If it is over the 5 hour mark then food would be advised. It ensures that I stay cheerful, mobile, and don’t faint from starvation. It doesn’t have to be the same as your sit-down meal (many caterers offer “vendor meals” as an add-on option). I prefers to be fed when YOU are fed, not afterwards, because when you are eating you’re not at your most photogenic.

Are you insured?

This is an essential for both yours and my piece of mind. I would not be comfortable not knowing that you or I were not covered for any eventuality. Also, I’d be happy to provide the policy if required.

What cameras and equipment do you use?

Canon all the way for me. Even my photo printers are Canon! Its one of those decision you make early on in your career and I happen to start off with a Canon in my hand. I use a couple of lens usually but have a few in my arsenal.

Do you photograph weddings abroad?

Yes I do, I wish there were more requests to be honest! I love seeing the world! Just get in touch for more information about pricing.

What areas do you cover/will travel to?

I cover the world if invited – visa’s permitting! Things to consider are, if the location(s) is beyond 25 miles from my work address then I charge 45p per mile. If it’s abroad, travel expense will need to be considered.
